Now, a little about me and drums! I have been playing drums for 23 yrs. now and love it more and more
each day. I have been playing in the Chicago area since '94/'95 in a few bands, InSpiteofYou,
Jungle Rot, and now BLOODSTREAM PARADE. Growing up with a drummer
for a Dad, and his brothers being musicians, music was always around. I spent alot of years in basements watching and learning
as my family jammed. Drummers like Ian Paice, Keith Moon, Tommy Aldrige, and Peter Criss became my first influences. Later
on, guys like Micky Dee (King Diamond), Dave Lomardo (Slayer), and Paul Bostaph (Forbidden, Slayer), worked their way into
my style.
When Writing songs, I try to focus on a strong foundation beat/groove
that makes the guitars and bass all lock in like a machine! Once that is done, I work in Highlights and fills to make a vocal
or guitar part POP out. Be a guitarplayer as well, I try to push my drumming to make the guitars crush. There is nothing like
the angry sound of B or A tuned guitars, so I don't want to take away from that. There are drummers who like guitars
to dance around their beats, or their drums to be up front, almost over powering the guitars. I myself, like to almost, push
or shove the guitars.
After playing a brand of drums for over 20 years, I found
a new company that crushes them all! TRICK DRUMS is a newer Drum Maker out of the Chicagoland area making their drums
out of Aircraft Aluminum. I know! I know!, I can hear all the questions now. But trust me when I say, these babies RULE! To top it off, they are AMERICAN MADE,
and not much is these days! You can visit them at, www.trickdrums.com .
I really want to get myself into
as much as possible with music. If you are a band or studio needing a session drummer, or a band needing a fill in for live
or studio, please
